Yakshadhruva Blooms: Foundation for Service Inaugurated

A tiny miracle – Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust – cradled in the nurturing embrace of Katilu Shri Durgaparameshwari was inaugurated on 14.09.2015.. Like a newborn in the arms of destiny, this heartwarming chapter unfolded, promising to leave an everlasting imprint in the dramatic saga of service to Yakshagana artists. Sri Sri Sri Guru Devananda Swamiji of Odiyuru, Vedamurthy Sri Vasudeva Asranna, Vedamurthy Sri Lakshminarayana Asranna, Vedamurthy Sri Ananta Padmanabha Asranna and Bhagavata Balipa Narayana inaugurated the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust.

Stars Align for Yakshagana: Patla Sambhrama Celebrates Second Edition

The glittering town hall of Mangalore witnessed an evening of vibrant celebration as the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation hosted the second edition of its renowned Patla Sambhrama on May 22nd, 2016. The event was graced by the presence of some of Sandalwood’s most celebrated stars, including Darshan, Tara, Anup Bhandari, Nirup Bhandari, and Nandini.
This star-studded spectacle served as a platform to honour and celebrate the contributions of Yakshagana artists, the custodians of this vibrant art form. The event resonated with the dedicated Yakshagana community, offering them a platform for recognition and appreciation. Building a Brighter Future: Patla Sambhrama’s Legacy of Service

The 3rd Patla Sambhrama, held on May 28th, 2017, was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation’s unwavering commitment to its artists. In a mere 1.5 months, the Foundation implemented 10 impactful service projects, exceeding 50 lakhs in value.
From financial aid for disabled artists and families of deceased ones to life insurance schemes and scholarships for talented children, the projects reached out to the heart of the Yakshagana community. These initiatives provided not just immediate relief, but a foundation for a brighter future.
The prestigious Yakshadhruva Patla Prashasti was awarded to the renowned Bhagavata Balipa Narayan. His recognition served as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring artists, while the overall event showcased the Foundation’s dedication to nurturing and sustaining this vibrant art form.
Patla Sambhrama wasn’t just a celebration; it was a powerful statement of service, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of Yakshagana artists and ensuring the continued legacy of this beloved tradition.

Patla Sambhrama 2018: Service, Stars, and Shelters

The 4th Patla Sambhrama in Mangalore’s Adyar Garden resonated with both celebration and service. Free medical camps, blood donations by the Trust and devotees, and two houses handed over under the Patla Yakshashraya Yojana marked the occasion’s dedication to artists’ well-being. The event was further graced by stars like Darshan and Rishab Shetty.
Young talent was nurtured through the Vidyarthi Pratibha Puraskar, while seasoned artists received gold medals and honorariums. The future was secured with the announcement of 100 free houses for landless artists, a testament to the Foundation’s commitment to their long-term security.
Patla Sambhrama 2018 was a powerful blend of festivities, support, and a promise of a brighter future for Yakshagana artists and their families.

A Celebration of Dedication: Patla Sambhrama 2019
Embraces Service and Legacy

Yakshadhruva Patla Sambhrama 2019, inaugurated by Sri Kshetra Madhuru, Managing Committee Chairman U.T. Alva, opened amidst celebration and commitment. Nitte (Deemed to be) University Chancellor N. Vinay Hegde commended Patla Sathish Shetty for inspiring artists’ social responsibility. The Foundation then unveiled its impactful work: projects worth 4 crore rupees, aiding families, providing scholarships, and building houses for landless artists. A dedicated 11-acre site promises 100 homes. Yaksha Prabhakara,’ a book celebrating Dr M Prabhakara Joshi’s contributions as a scholar and Yakshagana critic, was unveiled at the event. Dr Joshi was further honoured with the prestigious Patla Prashasti 2019, recognizing his lifelong dedication to the art form.

Cultural Extravaganza: Celebrating Patla Foundation’s Legacy

On May 29, 2022, the vibrant stage of Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar at Adyar Garden, Mangaluru, set the scene for the grand spectacle of Patla Sambhrama 2022. Esteemed guests, including ex-Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, the then Energy and District In-charge Minister Sunil Kumar, along with renowned music composer Gurukiran, graced the occasion.
Patla Foundation, known for its philanthropic endeavours, showcased service projects amounting to approximately 7.50 crore rupees. The event featured captivating performances, including a mesmerizing display by a Ladies Yakshagana group depicting “The Killing of Murasura” and the enthralling Santana Natyalaya’s presentation – “Santana Nrutyanjali.” The stage pulsated with the beats of a Chende Jugalbandi, creating a rhythmic masterpiece.
The grand tribute concluded with a stellar performance by the distinguished artists of Tenkutittu and Badagutittu, presenting “Sriramanjaneya.” The pinnacle of the evening was the conferral of the prestigious Patla Prashasti 2022 upon the revered Yakshaguru Mambadi Subrahmanya Bhat, adding a touch of honour and distinction to an unforgettable celebration of art and culture at Patla Sambhrama 2022.

Patla Foundation Honors Legend and Nurtures Talent

Mangaluru’s Adyar Garden vibrated with the spirit of Yakshagana on May 28, 2023, as the Patla Foundation Trust hosted its sixth annual Yakshadhruva Patla Celebration. The event resonated with both recognition and future-building, culminating in the prestigious Patla Award 2023 being bestowed upon renowned Tala Maddale artist ML Samaga.
Under the honorary presidency of Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty, the celebration unfolded with a vibrant tapestry of activities. High school and college students showcased their Yakshagana prowess in captivating competitions, while the foundation’s commitment to artists’ well-being was evident in the announced initiatives: assistance to deserving individuals, accident insurance, talent awards for children, scholarships, medical camps, blood donations, and a dedicated Yakshagana entertainment program.
