The 4th edition of Patla Sambhrama at Mangalore’s Adyar Garden’s Sheni Gopalakrishna Bhatta Stage was a harmonious blend of celebration and service. The event was graced by the presence of Darshan and Rishab Shetty.
A free medical camp for Yakshagana artists and their families, accompanied by a blood donation drive for Trust members and Yakshagana enthusiasts, was organized. The dedication to artists’ well-being was underscored by the handover of two houses under the Patla Yakshaashraya Yojana.
Nurturing young talent, the Vidyarthi Pratibha Puraskar was awarded, while seasoned artists were honored with gold medals and honorariums. The future of landless artists was secured with the announcement of 100 free houses, exemplifying the Foundation’s commitment to their long-term security. Disabled artists were also promised a monthly stipend of 1000rs.
The unveiling of the Patla Yana coffee table book captured the essence of Patla Foundation’s activities. Notable publications by Patla Foundation, “Chandaswati” by Srimanthur Narayan Shetty and “Padmamshu” by Ganesh Kollekadi, were also launched. Adding a global touch, a performance of the Mohini Ekadashi Yakshagana piece, composed by Dinesh Shetty Kottinja of Dubai and directed by Shekhar Shettigar, was presented by a children’s troupe from Dubai.
