Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation organized the Yakshadhruva Sports Meet 2019 on Tuesday, May 28, at Mangala Stadium for professional Yakshagana artists from both styles of Tenkutittu and Badagitittu. Throughout the day, the artists competed in 100-meter, 400-meter, 300-meter, 50-meter, and 75-meter races, throwball, bomb in the city, musical chair, 4×100-meter relay, tug-of-war, cricket, and other sports competitions.

District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader emphasized the need to introduce monthly pensions for Yakshagana artists, as they often lack employment during the off-season of the Yakshagana Mela. MLA Vedavya Kamath added that Yakshagana is a vital cultural heritage and encouraged introducing the art form into school curriculums to ensure its preservation.
